Committing to any plan can be a challenge, that’s why taking on 21 days is so appealing.
I’ve tried 21 DFX when it first came out, but I didn’t complete the program. However, this time I was committed – daily workouts and following the nutrition guide. It was important to me to focus and buckle down for 2 weeks. I felt like I had lost some control in my eating. I wasn’t planning out my weeks, and found myself making last minute decisions. It wasn’t that I was making unhealthy decisions, it was more that I wasn’t paying attention to the balance of foods.
I was coming into 21 DFX after having completed two months of Insanity workouts. I truly enjoyed Insanity, and especially Shaun T, but I desperately missed using weights. I also realized I was sculpting a very round and strong butt. There is NOTHING wrong with that, except that I was no longer fitting into my pants! And let’s me honest, I’m not about to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe.
This program was exactly what I needed – 30 minutes, incorporated weights, has an easy to follow nutrition program, and each day is a different style of workouts. I like that change – it makes it a lot more fun for me.
I completed the program and didn’t think I had made much progress. I measured myself and was astonished! I had lost 2 inches around the hips and 2 around my waist. As far as my weight, I have no idea. I haven’t weighed myself in well over a year. I used to be so focused on the number on the scale. Now my focus is in how I feel and how my body operates.
Round 1 was so much fun, that I’m getting ready to kick off Round 2!
